Essential cookies
These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off through our site:
- Session cookie — set when you sign in to the admin area so the site knows you are authenticated. It is removed when you sign out or when the session expires.
- Security tokens — used to protect forms against cross-site request forgery.
Analytics cookies
The cookies below are optional. None of them are set until you allow them on the banner, and saying no leaves the site working exactly as it does otherwise.
Separately from cookies, we count visits to this site and to the demo anonymously, whether or not you allow the cookie. Nothing is stored in your browser for this: a visit is recognised by combining your IP address and browser with a secret value that changes every day, so a visit today cannot be connected to a visit tomorrow, and it is never connected to your name, email or anything you type.
We run our own analytics rather than sending your visit to a third party. It records which pages you viewed and in what order, which buttons you clicked, how far down a page you scrolled, and which advert or link brought you here, so we can tell which pages and campaigns are worth keeping.
We do not record anything you type. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, messages, passwords and payment details are never collected by our analytics — only the fact that a form was started or sent.
- trq_consent — remembers whether you accepted or declined, so you are not asked again. Kept for 12 months.
- trq_vid — a random identifier that lets us tell a returning visit from a new one. It is not linked to your name, your email address or your IP address, and clearing your cookies makes you a new visitor. Kept for 12 months.
- trq_sid — identifies the current visit so the pages you view can be read as one journey. It expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- These three cookies are set for thequickrepairs.com and its subdomains, including the demo at demo.thequickrepairs.com, so that trying the demo after reading the website is recorded as one visit rather than two — and so that a choice you make on either site applies to both.
- Where Google Analytics is additionally enabled for this site, it sets its own cookies under Google's policy.
What the analytics record about your device
Alongside the pages you visit, we store your browser and operating system, whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop, your screen size, your language and time zone, and an approximate country and city worked out from your IP address.
Your IP address itself is shortened before it is stored — the last part is replaced with a zero, so it identifies a network rather than a household. We keep analytics data for a limited period and delete it automatically after that.
Payment cookies
If you go through checkout, Stripe may set cookies necessary to process the payment securely and to detect fraud. These are set by Stripe under their own policy.
Advertising cookies
We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this website.
How to control cookies
Decline on the cookie banner and no analytics cookies are set at all. If you accepted earlier and have changed your mind, clearing this site's cookies in your browser will remove them and bring the banner back so you can decline.
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop the admin area from working, but the public pages of the site will still be readable.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the browser add-on Google provides.
If you would like the analytics records of your visits deleted, contact us and we will remove them.
